The beauty of Alaska... the mountains, the ocean, the eagles, the other wildlife, the list could go on.



Fishing with cousins at Twin Lakes. The kids probably had more fun eating snacks and getting their feet wet in the water, followed by playing at Castle Park afterwards, than they did actually fishing. Matt spent more time getting all the poles ready and unwrapping tangled lines then you would expect for the amount of time the kids fished. Ha!

Cousins! Kalei and Abby, 7 and 8, have especially enjoyed having an "office" together where they write their newspaper and read chapter books together, have loved playing make believe in the Indian camp they've created down at Abby's family's new house lot below Grammy and Papa's, and are right now out at Echo Ranch Bible Camp together in the same cabin.



Cousins! Alea and Luke, both 5, have really enjoyed each other this summer. They have really liked going swimming at the pool, playing down at the lot (Jess and Marty's new house) and have a sleepover in the plans.

Candy anyone? Alea, Kalei, Abby and Keeli are just some of the takers. The fourth of July in Juneau...



We aren't usually up in Juneau for the fourth of July but we got here early this year due to Matt celebrating his 20th year high school reunion. So here are the kids at the morning parade all decked out in their rain jackets for the big drips coming down. In Juneau's parade there are fire engines, bag pipes and even a DDT (as Alea would call it), a dancing dump truck. It's quite the event! The hit is candy being thrown from all the vehicles as they pass by the kids. Look carefully in the background of this picture because there is a family on a 5 seater bike that they have been traveling around the country on. It's a mom and dad and their 3 children that are probably not above the age of 8 or so. Remarkable!
